- Album Review - Stonepit Drive - Arcadia
All I Wanted Awesome song to start the album with, it gets the toes tapping and head nodding. The guitars sound amazing, proper face melting start to the song that goes all the way through the song. The guitarist is seriously talented, he knows how to make his guitar scream. Louisiana Love this track, everything just seems to mesh in together perfectly in such a big way. The guitars are just brilliant, the drums are promenent and loud, and the the vocals just fit in around it all with the perfect tone and pitch. Kill to Servive Just when I thought I knew what the vocals were going to be like, there is a few little growls thrown in leaving me wondering what else the singer can do. Another Sun The little girls voices at the beginning confused me a little as they sounded like they were going to start singing the song from Nightmare On Elm Street lol. But the song soon starts and gets you going. Few more growls from the singing again and some whispering vocals which I really liked because it gave the song a big of a spooky atmosphere. I'd really like to see this track played live. High Rider LOVE THIS TRACK!! Loud and fast guitars, the beat makes me want to get up and dance around the room. Run Really like the guitars on this track, you can really hear the bass and makes it sound a bit doomy to start off but then the guitars come in and it's like "oh hello there". One World Really nice acoustic song (well, mostly acoustic lol), it's such a good chill song to break up the album with something a little bit different. If you close your eyes while listening to this song, I can see the band on stage singing and the whole crowd singing with them as one. I feel like it's a song to bring people together. Ghost I thought this was going to be a slow moody song all the way through but there are some really upbeat loud parts that are very theatrical. Wasn't expecting it to be an instrumental, I was waiting for the singing to start and it never does. Soldier Of Fortune FAVOURITE SONG ON THE ALBUM!!! I was sitting here really getting into the guitars at the start of the song, liking the doomy, almost broody riffs when I have "unlease the pain" screamed at me. I can see myself standing at the barrier at a gig, holding on for dear life and screaming this song at the top of my lungs. Set In Stone Love that the band picked this song as the last song, it's quite an upbeat song with face melting guitars solos. Basically making you want to put the album on repeat and listen to it all again. This would be my dancing track at a gig lol. This is an absolutely brilliant album! Go check out the band and order the album now!!
- EP Review - Far From Refuge - False Flag
This EP from Far From Refuge comes out on Friday the 19th of July so make sure you click the links to pre-order or pre-save it now. This is what the band say about their self-titled debut EP, “These songs have their roots in progressive metal, but our diverse influences combined heavily during the creative process. You'll find elements of punk rock, metalcore, melodic death and more across the record. We put a lot of heart into these tracks and can't wait for people to connect with this concentrated dose of Far From Refuge’s music.” Daybreak I love the beginning of this song because it's full on guitars and then this deep gruffy voice screams at you. The 2 voices going between the screaming in the verses and singing in the chorus works so well. This is my favourite song on the EP, the chorus is seriously banging. Ghost Of Eros The guitars on this track are amazing! They are the kind that I love, full on face melting! I love the speed and energy from this song, it gets you moving around as soon as it starts. Definitely an awesome moshing song when it's played live. False Flag Talk about a change in pace, this song starts off with some seriously awesome slap bass and was some slow singing. The drums sound like they are trying to break free in the verses until you get to the chorus' and then all hell breaks loose haha. Whitemane The guitars were really different on this one at the beginning, I was starting to feel a little put off but then the screaming came in and it made it all better haha. This is another one where there are slower parts and then back to faster. Carcass I really like the chorus on this one, I feel like it would be a great song to be played live as it sounds quite big and dramatic. Definitely a good song to end the EP with.
- Suzy's Solo Adventure To See Lost Zone
In the later part of 2021, I got a message on Instagram from a band I had never heard of saying that if I like Blind Channel, I might like them too. I get a lot of these so I was like "yeah, ok, I'll check you out". Not thinking that it would come to much, I went onto Spotify to check them out and 2 and a half years of loving their music later, I finally saw that band put on an amazing and outstanding performance that was a million times better than I ever thought it was going to be. That band, is Lost Zone. These 3 lads have written songs that could have come straight out of my soul, I had to see them live as soon as possible, but there was a slight issue...... They are from a town in Northern Italy and as much as I love driving, I don't think my little car would get to South Tyrol and back for a gig hahaha. I have looked by the way, it's 13 hours to drive there one way. Plus, getting to South Tyrol by plane or train isn't as easy as you might think either. So I have been patiently waiting for them to come a bit closer to the UK or have a gig in a city I could easily get to, and it finally happened. On the first of February, Lost Zone put up a post on Instagram saying that they were going to be going on a tour in Germany supporting From Fall To Spring. I had a look at the dates for any that were on a Saturday or in a city I could easily get to and there is was... Cologne. I looked up flights, they were cheap. Looked up hotels, they were not cheap but I found an Airbnb that wasn't too badly priced. I couldn't find anyone to go with me so after a lot of conversations with myself (this took a while), I decided I would just have to go on my own. I felt like this was my first proper chance to see them and I wasn't going to let it pass me by. Unfortunately, I was in a state of limbo at work at this time and got made redundant just after the announcement but as soon as I got another job, I got everything booked. I messaged them to let them know of my plans and was so happy to see that they were just as excited about my trip as me. I was going to have a very busy couple of weeks leading up to this gig as I was going to be following Blind Channel around the country for a week and I had my husband's birthday. So, I did my best to stay as organised as possible, there were a lot of lists as I find this really helps me from panicking about forgetting to book something. My mental health monsters were chatting away in the back of my head the whole time that something would go wrong, that I would forget to organise something and the whole trip would get called off, that I would forget to pack something important, that I would get lost and not find my way back to where I was meant to be, there would be delays, that no one would be able to speak English, I wouldn't get phone signal to stay in touch with people, I would lose my phone or bank cards, the boys wouldn't recognise me and ignore me. This was an ongoing battle for weeks of silly things that the monsters would say in my head, and there was a few times that the monsters nearly won but I kept fighting back. They were not going to beat me this time. I had decided that I wasn't going to let my monsters get the best of me so while planning this trip, I worked everything out and had it all planned. I like being in control, going by someone else's timeframe to get me somewhere doesn't go down well with me a lot of the time. So I booked airport parking so my car was close the airport. I paid to have a fast track pass to go through security so that I wasn't standing in a queue for hours. I booked a taxi from Cologne airport to my airbnb so that I would get dropped off at the door. The airbnb was a 2 minute walk from the venue so there was no chance of getting lost. Not knowing any German was a big trigger but after speaking to the band and some people I know who have gone to gigs in Germany, they assured me that most Germans can speak really good English so I calmed down about that. And I made sure I downloaded the German dictionary to my Google Translate app, just to be on the safe side. On Saturday the 13th of April, I started my journey from my house driving to Stansted airport, feeling a little shaky but I kept telling myself that Lost Zone were waiting for me so I had to keep going. To help with my triggers, I made a list of everything I needed to do so that I could tick them off as I went through the day. Drive to Maple Parking to drop off the car. Get the transfer bus to Stansted. Go through security. Find the Wetherspoons to sit, chill in, charge my power bank and phone, have a drink and have something to eat. Go to the gate when it's announced. Board plane. Get off plane in Cologne. Go through customs. Find taxi driver. Check into Airbnb. Find venue. Have an awesome gig. That was my list, it might seem silly to some people but having this list helped me feel a bit more in control of my situation. There was hardly any traffic on the way to the airport so I got to Maple Parking in good time, dropped my car off with the very nice staff, the transfer bus turned up about 5 minutes later so got on it to go to the terminal. There were LOADS of people checking into flights at the desks so I headed straight to security where it felt like most of London was waiting to go through security but thanks to my Fast Track Pass, I got through in 20 minutes and found the Wetherspoons pub quite quickly to chill out in. When my gate was called, I walked round to the gate, which felt like it took forever but at least I didn't need to get the train to the gate like some people had to. I waited to start boarding with everyone else and my first trigger raised its head. The plane hadn't even arrived yet so we were all sitting there wondering what was going on. The plane actually arrived about half an hour before our flight was meant to leave. The passengers got off and the staff at the gate started the boarding process so that when we were allowed to, we could get straight on the plane. The monsters were telling me that this was going to make me late, the taxi wouldn't wait for me so I'd have to pay out for another taxi and I would be late for the gig, but I kept telling myself that everything would be fine. The taxi has a waiting time of an hour so he WILL be there waiting for me, the gig doesn't start until 8pm so I WILL be there in time, I WILL NOT miss the gig. I got on the plane, took my seat and spent an hour listening to Lost Zone so that I could keep them as my main focus. The plane was only 15 minutes late leaving so that wasn't too bad. The plane somehow landed on time, I got off to boiling weather, got through customs in record time because I only had my ruck sack. I found my taxi driver who was a very nice man who didn't speak a lot of English but we managed to communicate perfectly. He drove me to my airbnb and made sure I knew exactly where I needed to go. I checked in with the host who was another lovely man called Till. He didn't speak much English either but I still understood him fine. I put on my make-up, got changed and sorted my bag before heading out to the venue, which I found easily. There were only 2 people there so I quite happily sat on the floor next to them. A guy came out with a camera and I got the impression he wanted to interview people in the queue for a social media video about From Fall To Spring so I jumped up and stood round in front of one of the vans as I didn't want to be filmed. I felt like it was going to be an awkward situation where I would need to explain that I was only there for Lost Zone and not being able to speak German was not going to help. I was standing there when Andre from Lost Zone came round the side of the van and spotted me. He was getting ready to soundcheck so I got a quick chat and a hug from him before he had to dash off back into the venue. It wasn't too long after this that the doors opened and I got into the venue. I saw Lost Zone standing by the merch stand so I quickly ran over to say hi to them and get more hugs before explaining that I needed to run to the barrier to take my place in the front row. Where else would I be for their set?? My stomach felt like I was on a rollercoaster standing there waiting for them to come out. I had barely spoken to anyone so I turned round and saw a man standing behind me, he looked like a very nice person so I asked if he spoke any English. I picked the right guy because he spoke fantastic English! I explained that I was only there to see Lost Zone so when their set was finished, did he want to take my place at the front. He replied yes and we had a little chat. I like doing this when I am at the front and I am only there for the support band, it's just a nice gesture to the person behind. You know when you are waiting for something for so long that you build it up in your head and when it finally happens, it's crap? Well, that didn't happen this time. They were AMAZING!!!! I was honestly blown away with their performance that I spent most of the set just looking up at them in wonder. I really couldn't believe that I was finally seeing them, Lost Zone were on stage in front of me! I have done a separate article as a gig review so make sure you check it out. During the last song, Florian jumped down onto the barrier and walked along to me. I took this opportunity to give him a hug haha and then all of a sudden, he grabbed someone's hand and he was standing on the barrier in front of me. I didn't know what to do so I just held onto his leg to help him stay steady until he jumped down. Honestly, he gave me a heart attack lol. At the end of their set, I got a set list and the lady next to me had caught Andre's pick and she gave it to me! How lovely is that!? I think she as the girlfriend or wife of the man who was taking my place at the barrier so it was like a little thank you present. I headed over to merch thinking they wouldn't be out for a while as they would probably be sorting their gear out but then Andre appeared just as I got to the table. He saw me and we went to hug but he stopped saying that he still had black make-up on his neck and didn't want to get it on me. I told him I didn't care and we had a lovely big hug. I had had such an awesome time that I didn't care if I got a bit of black make-up on me haha. I wanted to show my appreciation for such an awesome experience. They had one of their t-shirts on the merch table and was asking people to sign it when they were buying merch. I think this is an awesome idea, it's going to be a beautiful thing for them to have as a memento of the tour. Well, as I looked down to check it out, the merch guy saw me and started happily chatting away to me (was a bit weird he knew who I was haha). He was saying to me, "sign where ever you want to, as big as you want and do what ever you want to". So I did haha I signed by name, then drew a heart around it and then drew little hearts in different colours haha. Thank goodness I carry so many sharpies around with me that aren't all black haha. Soon Florian and Simon came out as well so lots more hugging and chatting. I hung out at merch with them for the rest of the night chatting to them between them speaking to people who were coming up to buy merch or speak to the lads. I didn't want to get in the way, especially as these were new fans, so I was happy to wait until they had time for me. I helped out a couple of times by taking some pictures of them with people. I waited until they were less busy and then asked for the merch that I wanted to buy, which was basically one of everything haha. I got 3 t-shirts, a tote bag, the new album on CD, a set of Simon's drum sticks, a signed drum skin, some signed pictures and some beer mats (which will never get used haha). I was not thinking at this point about how I was going to get it all home, I was just pointing and Florian was finding everything for me. Florian also remembered to get me one of their Kiku Apples which I had for breakfast the next morning, it was delicious. As you probably aren't aware, the boys are sponsored by Kiku Apples, hence why they had the apples hahaha. As it started to get later, From Full to Spring finished their set and the house lights came on. I was starting to get a bit emotional because the night was soon going to end and I didn't want to get upset in front of them so I asked the boys to sign my white t-shirt and the CD as they were going to be going into the display frame I ordered. We had some pictures taken, which I will love forever, and then I said my goodbyes. Please make sure that you these guys out, there are links throughout this article for you find them and see what I mean by how awesome they are.
- EP Review - AK & The Red Kites - Proverbial Storm
Devil's Stomp This song reminds me of some old blues songs, all the way through you can hear a loud snare drum keeping the time, even when the other instruments join in, the snare is always there. Andrew's voice at the beginning sounds like it's going through an old microphone or speaker and then boom, the guitars and drums all come in. LOVE IT!! Stronger My favourite song on this album. I just love the guitars, the drums, Andrew's voice, the vibe, I love it all. I can't stop moving to this song, I just want to get up and dance to this one whenever I hear it. Proverbial Storm This song......I need to hear live because wow! It is epic! Heavy guitars with a face melting solo, loud drums and awesome vocals all mixed together to make this outstanding song! Wolf Moon What I love about this song (other than the amazing guitar solo), is that the words are "Fly higher than the mountinas, swim through the valley below, silhouette of the red kit of the wolf moon as the creatires howl below." Tear It Up This is another one that will be awesome live, it's a good one to boogie to. I dare you to try and stay seated for this one! I like that there is a guitar or it might be the bass (sorry I'm not sure) in the background that sounds like it is chugging to add to the drums beat. Baby Don't Love Me I love this one, the guy singing at the beginning sounds like an old blues recording, there's loud hand claps and face melting guitars. Can't stop moving to this one. The album comes out on the 28th of June so make sure you go to the website to order the album now!
- Gig Review - Blind Channel - Milan
I have been following Blind Channel for a year and half now, and I've been lucky enough to see their shows many times already. Since the first time I saw them playing a live show I fell in love with the energy they bring on stage. This review is about the first time I saw them in concert in my home country, Italy, on their "Exit Emotions tour". I'm not gonna lie, I was slightly concerned about this show in particular, at that point I didn't know what the Italian fans were like, the people that I know that follow Blind Channel are my friend and mostly British. Let's start from the beginning. I got my flight to Milan the day before the show just because I really wanted this to be a chill show, no stress, just a holiday. Once i got to Milan, I met a few Italian fans that I already know and we made our way to the hotel to check in. Then is was a llate night ice cream in Piazza del Duomo and sleep. Gig day is here! I got a vip upgrade to my ticket for this so I had a meet and greet with the band, which was nice as always with a little surprise for them. During the meet and greet there was a little acoustic session and, as the venue is called "Alcatraz", they played an acoustic version of their song "Alcatraz" which is a rarity! Unfortunately this was the day that Ghøstkid (one of the two support bands) had to cancel the show last minute. We did had a longer set with Rock Band From Hell, that was absolutely brilliant, they played "Princess Complex", incredibly amazing live! Then Blind Channel gets on stage and I forgot about the world outside those doors. Song after song the floor is shaking from all the jumping, screaming my lungs out to the songs that I loved since this album came out. You can check out Suzy's review of the album here. The band gave everything they have, and I'd like to mention that at least two out of six band member were sick at this point of the tour. Yes we got "tour fever", all of us, fans and bands included. The only moment I saw them backing up was when Aleksi (dj/percussions) didn't show up on stage half way through the show for a little intterlude that he had been doing at previous shows. But he lost his voice at that point and instead of changing the set, they chose to let Niko (vocalist) do Aleksi's part to give the audience the show they deserved. It was great, yes I missed Aleksi screaming to BYOB but he was back again behind the DJ set for the rest of the show. At the end of the show, Joel (Vocalist), brought out the italian flag I had given him in the meet and greet. Myself and lots of the fans had signed it, so it was very special. I can't wait to see them again, this is most definitely one of those shows that makes you thing "this is were I belong". Blind Channel will support Lacuna Coil during their UK tour in October, here are the dates. 18/10 Bournemouth 20/10 Manchester 21/10 Glasgow 22/10 Wolverhampton 24/10 Nottingham 25/10 London 26/10 Bristol

They have been wowing stages big and small, and now they are here in the UK so that we can experience them for ourselves. They are so excited about being here in the UK, Darnell Cole has said “I am so stoked to be back in the UK, A place where my music is truly appreciated! - Call Of The Wild - Saturday 25th May - Day 2
Today was the best day of Call Of The Wild for me. King Voodoo Such a good start to the day seeing these guys as they have an awesome energy that seemed to be charging the crowd. They are very guitar heavy but it gives them this brilliant gritty sort of sound. I love the singer, he has quite a hypnotic sound that pulls you in and makes you want to hear more. I'm expecting big things from these guys in the future. One thing I have to say is someone look at the bass player's family tree because he looks like the long lost son of Vince Neil haha. He looked AMAZING!! Every part the rock star. Spyder Byte OMG These guys are going to go far. I love everything from the outfits, the dance moves, the hair and most importantly.....the rocking music. They had some really amazing energy and because I was down the front, I was blown away by the roar of the crowd at the end of their set because the tent was packed. I was shocked to find out that these guys are local to me, I couldn't understand how they could be a stone throw from my front door and I've not heard of them. That has definitely now because I'm looking forward to seeing them at Maid Of Stone in July, the Red Lion in Gravesend in September and supporting South Of Salem at the Tunbridge Wells Forum in October. Sam Millar Sam was amazing, such a brilliant guitar player. Although I did have trouble not watching the bass player because he was hard not to watch. He was so charismatic and a lovely wiggle on him lol, he is definitely someone who was born to be on the stage. Confess Swedish rockers, Confess were brilliant. I didn't know any of their songs but I loved their set. I particularly liked their cover of "What's Love Got To Do With It" by Tina Turner. They have a great stage presents and the crowd absolutely loved them. Wrath Child These guys were so good to watch. They had some really banging tunes and the singers custom microphone attachment, which looked like gun, had me guessing for a second what was going on haha. When he was singing into the mic, it looked like he was pointing the gun into his mouth. This is when I had the best moment of the whole festival....I interviewed Samy Elbanna from Lost Society. I had interviewed him before but that was over Zoom and I hadn't seen him for a while but that lovely man recognised me and gave me a big hug. The interview was so relaxed that it felt more like a chat with a friend, that is what Samy does to you, he just chills you out. Bad Touch I badly need to see these guys again because they were outstanding. I loved everything about them, their vibe, their songs, their whole performance. Their sound reminds so much of decent classic rock, real raunchy guitars, banging drums (no pun intended), amazing vocals and killer anthem sounding songs. I need more of these guys in my life!! I've already looked and they aren't anywhere near me at the moment, but I will be keeping an eye on them to see when a gig near me comes up. South Of Salem I haven't listened to much from South Of Salem but what I have heard, I have liked a lot. So I was super excited to see these guys, and they did not disappoint. I loved their set, and not just because they had flames coming out the stage that warmed us all up haha. I was very impressed with them and I can't wait to see them again at Maid Of Stone in July. Lost Society There are no words for this set because Lost Soceity were just so frigging amazing!! Amazing isn't even a good enough word, outstanding, brilliant, fanominal, I can't pick the right word. This wasn't the first time I've seen Lost Sosciety live, but in my personal experience, this is the best performance I have ever seen them do. They had this electric energy that went through the crowd from the second they came on stage. I have loved these lads for a while now and I felt incredibiliy proud of the band and so honoured that I was there for their first headlining show at a UK festival because they went above and beyond.
- Call Of The Wild - Sunday 26th May - Day 3
The weather hadn't been great the previous days but Sunday was really hard pouring rain, but the true rock fans were there front and centre for their favourite bands. I loved that there was no stopping some of them from braving the rain. Hush Money Wanted to check these guys out as Tom Killner had been touring with them and I really liked them. Loud guitars and the singers voice.......OMFG! So soulful that it grabs your attention and holds it firmly until the end of the song. I couldn't get over his lovely voice. I'm quite annoyed with myself that I have missed them touring over here so I will just have to wait for them to come back. Takeaway Thieves The lovely Andy Sharrocks suggested I check these guys and I'm glad I did because they are really good!! They were so much fun to watch and their songs are so awesome! Definitely check these guys out if they are doing a gig near you! Tom Killner I feel like I have been waiting forever to see Tom live and he did not disappoint me. He is such a fantastic guitarist, he makes his guitar sing. I loved every minute of his set, getting to watch Tom live was an amazing experience and I can't wait to see Tom again in July in Bristol when he is supporting Preacher Stone. I think that even the clouds were loving Tom as the pouring rain stopped and the sun started to shine during his set. I got to have a lovely chat with Tom later on that day. Sons Of Liberty These guys always put on a good show. I love seeing them because they have such an awesome energy when they are performing. I loved that Russ came down off the stage and danced with everyone in the crowd. Everyone was loving their set, the crowd were really getting into it. I loved hearing "Turn The Tide" and "Light The Fuse" which are my favourites live. With all the wind and rain, and the thought of our long drive home the next day. We returned to our hotel, soaked and shattered lol. COTW is such an amazing festival, they released dates already for next year as well as a few of the bands. I already have those dates in my diary, there is no way I'm not going again next year.
- Call Of The Wild - Friday 24th May - Day 1
Sean and I were in the car and set off by 7:30am. We thought there was going to be loads of traffic on the way and that we would get there just in time to see The Heat Inc at 1pm. Well, turns out there was hardly any traffic so we got to Call Of The Wild Festival much early than we expected, which was a blessing because we got to see..... We Three Kings These guys are brilliant, they are Rich, Pete and Bonesy (the skeleton). I hadn't heard any of their stuff before but really enjoyed their set, awesome rocky music with feel good vibes. I didn't stand still for the whole set having a little boogy. I loved Bonesy, I didn't know the story behind him until the interview later on that day, but I loved him. I'll gladly go and see them again. This was our first time at COTW so we had a good look around. It's the smallest festival I have ever been to but that is what make it amazing. Everything was in short walking distance so there was no rushing around. The main stage and second stage were next to each other so no running between stages to see bands, there was no band performances clashing and if you got a good spot in the middle, you wouldn't need to move all day. One big plus for me was that the toilets were a toilet block, no portaloos in sight! I do like my comforts, even at a festival haha. The Heat Inc Loved the vibe from these guys, a slight hint of The Killers but with a twist. I just wanted to wiggle my bum to them for the whole set. The singer, Jon, has got such a great set of pipes on him, I love his voice. I also got to interview Jon after their set This was a short day for us, because of the long drive, my back and hip were starting to play up so we retreated to our hotel for the night, excited about the next day.
- Album Review - Apocalyptica Plays Metallica: Vol 2
I am honoured to be able to review this album as a fan of both Metallica and Apocalyptica. I'm always in for a band covering songs but keeping their own personal touch and you can definitely hear it in this album. Not the first time the Finnish band is bringing us Metallica songs,as their very first album in 1996 was "Plays Metallica By 4 Cellos" reinventing and celebrating some of Metallica's best and most known songs like "Master Of Puppets" and "Nothing Else Matters". In "Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2" we can find more songs like "To Live Is To Die" and, one of my all time favourite in both versions now "The Four Horsemen" and speaking about this song, on this album the legend Robert Trujillo is featured. The bassist offered to be on this album, almost as a gesture of respect to another band who were once formed by normal guys who just wanted to play the songs from their favourite band, but with their own instruments. And personally I find this extremely humble from a legendary metal band like Metallica. And this is not the very first time for the two bands to collide, Apocalyptica actually opened the stage for Metallica back in 2011. As usual Apocalyptica delivers another great album and I couldn’t happier for them, definitely gonna suggest (FORCE) everyone to give it a listen! As I'm writing this, the whole world seems to go be crazy about the Netflix show "Bridgertons", and you are probably wondering why I'm bringing this up now. Well, if you have never seen the show just know that all the songs played during the episodes are covers of today's pop songs a classic key, so we are talking about violins, Cellos, pianos and harps. If I lived in that regency era, this album would have been my track list. Apocalyptica will bring this new album on tour starting from August around not only Europe and will perform few show in UK. - Gig Review - Enquire Within - Album Launch
On the 31st of May, I was back at the Black Heart in Camden ready to see Enquire Within on stage to celebrate the release of their new album "Elysium"! The venue is already filled up with people ready to hear the new songs live, the air is electric. Opening act (Halberd) also opened the moshpit and I was pleased to see people falling and being helped back up on their feet again, remember kids, it's all fun and games but no one should get hurt at concerts! Then we had Detoxen, second band to warm up the audience, good to see they already have some passionate fans! And finally Enquire Within, The singer was pouring his lungs in Final Seal. The engagement with the audience is amazing, it feels almost like a big family reunion and the songs are headbanging! I ended up being pushed a couple of time from people in the moshpit but hey, this is the fun of it right? Between songs there were little chats, jokes between band members and audience and I personally love this about shows in smaller venues. We got to hear to songs like Hunter and Remorse, and I was happy to find myself jumping to Prison which turned out to be my favourite song! We also had a surprise guest at the end of the show Howard (H) from Acid Reign who performed the last song of the the set with the band making the stage busier and lowder! It's definitely an amazing show, welcoming community and the band is great, with their music and their personalities! Enquire Within will soon hit the road with a tour, here is the link and dates:- 01/06 Bromley 07/06 Cardiff 28/06 Gravesend 19/07 Kingston 25/07 Edinburgh 26/07 Manchester 13/09 Brighton More shows are coming so make sure to follow the band!
- Album Review - Enquire Within - Elysium
Track List Elysium Intro Seeds Of Destruction Sins Of The Father Prison Final Seal Point Of No Return Bloodlines This album starts with a great intro, I always loved a good intro, it pulls you into the atmosphere or the story an album has to tell you, leaving everything else behind. In "Seeds of Destruction" we can find loud guitars and almost aggressive vocals, the whole album is loud and heavy but still has some elements that makes is sound very well defined like the drums in "Prison", somehow out of those powerfull guitar riffs the drums are still the main protagonist in the whole song to me. I can definitely picture a mosh pit going on through the whole show when this album is played and I'm not gonna lie, I find it pretty exciting! Overall these songs have a powerful meaning and the music is just spot on. Can't wait to hear the album played live at the album launch on the 31st of May at the Black Heart, Camden, London.
