  • Hell(o) It's VV

Before going into this review let's take a step back. HIM was a great band known for their goth atmosphere and the sharp music. Songs like "Wings of a butterfly" and "Join me" were in my playlist ALL THE TIME and made MTV history by being the most watched video at the time. As a teenager I had my fair share of goth days and this band was the only one I would listen to for days but unfortunately, I was too young to go and see them performing live. Then we kinda lost them for a while, I got older, I moved to a different country and HIM announced a farwell tour. My heart was broken cause of their split but hey at least I had the chance to finally see them on their farwell tour, right? Wrong. Tickets were sold out in seconds. I did meet Ville in a pretty random way though and sometimes, when I think about it, I still have doubts it actually happened as he came into the shop where I was working and I got to have a chat with him. After a short period where Ville was involved in different projects, he decided to try a solo career and released his first solo album Neon Noir in 2023, thank you Mr. Valo, that was very much needed. Here is my review of that album. Echolocate Your Love As I have been waiting for new music from Ville like many others, I was so incredibly surprised by this first song. You can definitely hear his style through the whole song but at the same time there is a new energy, a new vibe, the desire to celebrate something like love. Run Away From The Sun This is my favourite song out of this album (I might say this again about another song later on) This song brings me back to that decadent, goth idea of love, the need of an escape, it's sweet, no better it's bittersweet and the lyrics will stay in your head for days. Neon Noir Once again, this man did not disappointed me, the atmosphere of this song feel like fog around you, it hugs your brain like a lullaby whispering a sad love story, almost a desperate need for love. Loveletting I have such a good memory tied to this song in particular, I kept listening to it on a loop while on my way to see VV live in Belgium. It's sweet, it's comforting, it breaks your heart, it feels like dancing on the edge of the moment where you understand that maybe it's time to let go but you are not fully sure. The Forever Lost About this song I'm just gonna quote a piece of the lyrics cause I feel like that would say enough. "Moondial it up, sundial it down Come dance the decay now Round n round Suicide by love's night vision heart" Baby Lacrimarium Once again in this song you are pulled in a different word, wrapped by a nostalgic music and a story that talks about love using almost a poetry language almost. Salute The Sanguine Favourite song of this album (told ya), the music is just pleasing, pulls you to sing and dance bringing those dark tones that are a staples for VV. It does remind me a lot of HIM music, at the same time Ville was, is and will forever be HIM. In Trenodia I love this song so much, it's nostalgic and speaks to me on deep level for some reason, I still have to name those reasons but I'm involved. Ville's voice is unmistakable, the way he uses it one of a kind. Saturnine Saturnalia Most gloomy ballad of this album, romantic, the choruses are all in the right spot to get stuck in your head, the atmosphere brings you to a new reality and you can definitely feel like being at the show. Zener Solitaire This feels just like a little break to me, this was used as intro during the show and it only makes sense, this music creates that mysterious atmosphere, as if you just reached to a new dimension. Vertigo Eyes I see this song not just about love or falling in love with someone charming but almost about something poisoned, the lyrics are almost like a confused chatting with yourself. When you can't really say if you are in love or you are conditioned by something or someone, and yet you can't really stop.

  • Album Review - Up In Smoke - Stone Angels

Stone Angels are an amazing band from Brighton who will rock your socks off with this album. Every track is an absolute banger and everyone needs to listen to it!! Where The Crows fly What a track to start the album with, OMG, love it! Straight away you have this slow, moody guitar from James that is then joined by the singer, Niall, that then leads onto a short drums solo from Loz to take you into the rest of the song. It’s not a big up-tempo number but it has a good punch to it. It’s like the band are saying “are you ready for this?” Gambler What I love about this song is that there is a bit of to and frow between the singer and guitarist in the verses. Niall sings and then James plays, like they answer each other, gives the song a great vibe because they then come together for the chorus and the songs tempo goes up. Nice bass parts from Sam as well in this song. Hold On I got some real Queen’s Of The Stone Age vibes from this song, especially with the drums and guitar parts, this song has a better guitar solo though lol. This one really got me moving around. Up In Smoke A very slow, moody and sad song, it's a very emotional sounding song. I love whatever effect was used on the guitar in the solo, it made it stand out so much compared to the rest of the song. Halfway To Nowhere Thought this was going to be another moody one but then the chorus kicked in and upped the rock vibe to be really meaty. OMG the squeal on the guitar solo is amazing! I could almost imagine James standing at the front of the stang, one foot on a floor speaker (the legendary rock pose) and bending the strings to get that squeal. I need to see this song played live. Over The Edge Talk about changing the pace! This one is fast and lous from start to finish. It had me out of my seat and up doing my best air guitar impression (with a big duck pout) within seconds of it starting! I don't know if it's an effect or if Niall is doing something to his voice but I got some awesome Ozzy vibes from him. His voice, the music, it all just merged perfectly in this song. I know I keep going on about the guitar solos but I promise you, this one is frigging amazing!!! This is most definitely my favourite track on the album. Ghost Of New York This is another sad song but beautifully put together. Loving the subtle use of a symthasiser, it added that extra layer that makes such a difference to the song. The music is dramatic without taking any attention away from the lyrics, you can really feel the emotion through the music. Supercharged Raunchy is a good enough word for this song! My butt was wiggling in my seat the second the drums came in. "I'm surcharged!" Hell yeah I am, especially listening to this song. I dare you to sit down while listening to this track, it's not possible! Western Dreams In the same way that Where The Crows Fly was the perfect start to the album, Western Dreams is the perfect finishing track. It gets you up on your feet one last time to sway your arms in the air and leaves you wanting to start the album all over again. This is such a brilliant album and it is out now! • Album Review - Fresh From The Abyss - Balance of Power

I'm quite surprised that I haven't heard of these guys before, the band originally got together back in 1995 in London and this is their ninth album. They have also played some really big shows, in 2002 and 2004, they were at Bloodstock Festival in the UK, the 2005 they were at Rock The Nations Festival in Istanbul. 2007 they were at the San Francisco Bay Area Rock Festival. There has been one or two line-up changes but the band is now Hazel Jade - Lead Vocals Chris Young - Guitars Adam Wardle - Guitars Tony Ritchie - Bass and Vocals Lionel Hicks - Drums This album is called Fresh From The Abyss which very dramatic and theatrical with some seriously awesome guitar solos thrown in when you least expect it. Hazel has got an amazing set of pipes and is accompanied well by bass player Tony who takes lead on occasion I particulary like One More Time Around The Sun as it sounds very emotional and the guitar solo basically melted my face off. This is one of the guitar solos I was not expecting, I was sitting, listening, enjoying the song and then the solo came in and I was like "where did that come from?" Land Man Down was the perfect song to start this album with, it's such a big sounding song and there is a synthesizer solo!! The energy is great from the very start and gets you ready for the rest of the album. Never Be Here Again is the best track on the album, it gives me some serious 80s classic rock vibes but ramped up. It will make you want to stand with one foot on a chair pretending it's a speaking and you are on stage belting out the lyrics. Track list:- Last ManDown Never Be Here Again Monster Rage Of Ages Abyss Velocity Deadlands One More Time Around The Sun Make sure you check out this album now!!!

  • Album Review - Lost Zone - Ordinary Misery

As it has been a whole month since this banger of an album was released, so I decided it was time for a review. Fighting Demons I have loved this song since it came out as a single back in October, the words feel like they come from every person who is dealing with mental health issues. Just the chorus says it all:- Hiding in the dark I'm so lost inside Been fighting demons for my whole life Feel like giving up Would you be my light?! Been fighting demons for my whole life This is also one of my favourite tracks where Andre screams and I still wouldn't have believed that noise came out of him if I hadn't seen it for myself in Cologne lol. Shadow Of My Memory The way I interpret this song is that it is all about moving forward and not letting the past hold you back. Wake up! Get prepared! Gonna catch you and get back what you took from me! You’re a shadow of my memory! Just a shadow of my memory! There are so many times we have all been held back by a person or experience in the past and we can't move forward but we need to push ourselves. All Again - Feat Philip Wilhelm - From Fall To Spring This one is the latest single and features Philip Wilhelm from the band From Fall To Spring. This is such a brilliant song and super catchy, you will be walking around with "do it all again, do it all again". Can't Keep Running What I really like about this one is that we hear Simon rapping and then it turns into an awesome dance tune. It's like an extra added bit of energy to take you into the second half of the album. This is one of my favourites to listen to while I'm driving because I can just scream the words at the top of my voice! It's the perfect song to become an antham. Devil In Disguise This is such an amazing song. It makes me just want to get up and dance around the room, especially at the chorus when the tempo goes up. I dare you to do your best to sit down for this track! You're The One This is a beautiful love song, I feel it's about loving someone but also being scared by it because of being hurt before. But the love is so deep that they know the other person is the one, it's true love and out of "seven billion shooting stars" they are the one. Out Of My Mind Love this one because it’s a mini dance track right in the middle of the album. It’s like the band wanted to make sure we were all still paying attention to it hahaha. Voices This is my favourite track on this album. I just love it so much!!! It's another one were I find it so relatabale because I always say there are 2 voices in my head, one trying to keep me level headed and the other that throws me in panic attacks. They are constantly battling against each other in my head. "They won't let me sleep at night", nope, I get all sorts of ideas mainly at night. "They tell me I should move, I should stay, go away", I find making some decisions so hard because one voice is saying one thing but then the other will start and I don't know what to do. Hold Me Tight This one hit me hard, this is exactly what was going through my head when my mental health was at it's worst. "Do I recognise myself? Yeah for sure, doing the same mistakes over and over again, sometimes it's easier to shut the door but I'm trying to leave to cracked as long as I can." And the conversation I would have with my husband was that I just wanted him to hold me, he didn't need to say anything, I just needed that contact and his understanding. I get very emotional listening to this song. Foreshadowing feat Bluthund This one is part in German, part English so for those of you that don't speak German:- I click through the internet like crazy Telly Fail Army since the crib Inconspicuous on the street, always nice But hate comes when I sit down in the room What the hell have you done here? My mother gets the wind from the front From child porn to incel forums I was born a child of wrath Because anonymity no longer works Clicked submit Sitting here at the kitchen table With a grin on his face "The bitch gets fucked" With my real name: Michael Schmidt When will we find a way, where will this end? I'm terrified of our foreshadowing Foreshadowing Pornhub fucked my head That's still way too soft for me BDSM - for me is flower sex When I have snuff, I smoke a bag Inspiration taken from Reddit Sink even deeper into the rabbit hole Love goes through the stomach I'm going to be a cannibal now Because anonymity no longer works Clicked submit Sitting here at the kitchen table With a grin on his face "I want people to eat me" With my real name: Michael Schmidt When will we find a way, where will this end? I'm terrified of our foreshadowing Foreshadowing No end in sight, rha No end in sight, rha No end in sight When will we find a way, where will this end? I'm terrified of our foreshadowing We're raised by hate and lies, no they won't end Let's change the path of our foreshadowing Foreshadowing Where Will This End? The shortest track on the album but it's just so beautiful. Close you eyes while listening to it and you will feel so calm, it's like Florian's voice hypnostises you. Nothing But A Dream This is such a good chilled song but I think it's about trying to make your dreams come true and it's not going the way you want it to or reaching a goal but it's not what the person dreamed it would be.

  • Stand Together Against Cancer Concerts

Last year, Matt Long (lead singer and guitarist of Catfish) was diagnosed with bowel cancer and his most recent scans show that it has spread to his liver and his stomach lining. He has been through surgery and chemo but this has not helped. There is an alternative treatment available to him but it is expensive. So Matt’s mum, Fiona, has started a GoFundMe page to help raise the £100,000 to cover all of the medical bills, travel, etc. Just the medication is predicted at £3,000 a month. Without this treatment, Matt has been told that he won’t make it far into 2025. So the music community across the United Kingdom have come together to put on 5 shows around the country where every penny raised will go directly to Matt’s treatment fund. • Gig Review - Lost Zone - Club Zolta

Lost Zone 13th April 2024 Club Volta, Cologne, Germany Set list:- Leftovers Shadow Of My Memory Fighting Demons Away From Severity All Again Black Out This was my first time at Club Volta and I was quite surprised by how big it was once I got inside, as it looks so much smaller on the outside, and the layout is perfect so that you have an amazing view of the stage no matter where you stand. This gig was the first time I have managed to see Lost Zone live and the lads completely blew me away. I had been waiting to see them live for such a long time that I was worried they wouldn't live up to my expectations but they were so outstanding that they completely smashed my expectations and went even higher. They were the first support band for From Fall to Spring on the Rise tour which was a 7 date tour around Germany. I have seen a lot of support bands that go on first on the bill struggle to get the crowd going, but Lost Zone didn't have that problem. From start to finish, they had an amazing fun energy making their set hard to stand still for and the crowd absolutely loved it. They were dancing, they were moshing, they were cheering at the top of their lungs. One thing I was really looking forward to seeing was Andre (the bass player) screaming. I have seen videos of him screaming but I needed to see him do it for myself to properly believe it. It's just hard to believe that such a deep devil-like voice can come out of him haha. The songs were a mix of their latest singles from the Ordinary Misery album that came out a week before the tour, their 2022 album Resilience and one of their old songs from 2019. I particularly loved that they played Leftovers as that was one of my favourite songs from the Resilience album. I can't wait to see them again!!! Make sure you check them out and go see them as soon as you can!

  • Album Review - Tom Killner - Borrowed Time

A fantastic album from Tom, loved every track because they sounded perfectly put together. I got a lot of nostalgia from some of the tracks from when I grew up listening to country music and those feel good songs that have stuck with me. Cosmic Sounds This is such a brilliant song, I can see myself chilling out in the garden enjoying the sunshine with this song on in the background. Tom's voice is just so soothing and lovely to listen to. Devils Gate The guitar parts on this song are amazing, they just flow so beautifully with Tom's voice and the rest of the music. One Day At A Time I love the harmonica on this song as it feels like I'm listening to the country music bands I used to listen to as a kid. It just fits in so perfectly to round off the song, I don't think the song would have been as good if it had been a guitar solo. On The Other Side I don't quite know why but I got some slightly Status Que vibes from the guitar parts and it got me up having a little boogie around the room. I feel like this would be an amazing song to hear played at a gig. Only You I love this song, it's such a beautiful love song. It makes you want to cuddle the one you love for a long time. It's been done acousticly which I think gives it that extra special sound. Borrowed Time I can see why it's the title track, as it's an absolute banger of a track. I love listening to this one in the car as I'm driving along because it has a sort of chilled vibe but you have these amazing guitar parts fading in and out. No More I love the fiddle in this song, it adds an extra layer of harmony to the song and the woman's voice that comes in is just so beautiful. It all just blends beautifully into this wonderful song. Heart Of Gold This is my favourite track on the album. I feel like Tom's voice is pushed that little bit more on this track and it goes to another level. There is also like a synthesiser or something that has been added to add a little something extra to the music that I love. Light It Up This is a good boogie song, I can see me dancing around to this at a gig like I did in my living room the first time I heard it. Ride With Me This song has a great bouncy beat to it that will get your whole body moving. Make sure you check Tom out, he has got a lot of gigs coming up so go to this link to see where he is playing near you.

  • Album Review - Preacher Stone - V

Ok, this album is pure gold! There are so many amazing guitar solos that I can't wait to hear live because they are going to melt my face off! Hard Life PhD What a way to start the album! Hell yes this is a frigging awesome song to get you going, your butt will not stop moving of this song. My, My, My A bit moody and gritty but loving the synth and guitars as they are banging on this track. Ain’t As Easy As It Looks This one is super catchy, it will have you singing along in no time. I love the megaphone parts as it makes it feel like it's being played at a rodio. Till We Meet Again This one is quite sad, as the title would suggest, it's about losing someone. This one actually made me feel quite emotional and I had a cry thinking about my dad, but don't let that put you off, it's a brilliant song. Horse To Water Another moody one, but this time it's about dealing with life especialy hearbreak. One of the first lines is "I tried to drown my troubles but the bastards learned to swim. Put them out by the roadside, but they beat me home again". Which I think is the perfect way of describing trying to drink your worries away, your troubles will always come back again. Damage Is Done This is a proper boogie song, the drums and guitar have your butt wiggling all over. I love that it is about ending a relationship and the person who ended it trying to come and being told no haha. I just get images of people singing this to their exes and giving them the middle finger. Rise Up This is my favourite track on the album. This is a sit back in a big comfy chair with your favourite drink, close your eyes and just listen to the song. It's got a great message about loving each other. life is bad enough as it is nowadays so lets all join up together to make things better. Dance With The Devil OMG the bass on this track! LOVE IT! I could listen to this song over and over again. I just know this one is going to be amazing performed live. Rain Or Shine This one isn't as raunchy as some of the other songs but it is still awesome, it's a really nice calmer song that you can have a nice boogie to. Home Great song to finish the album on, it's a nice slow song about going through life and going back home after a long time. I love the guitar solo because it is perfectly place to elevate the song at just the right time to complete the song. Preacher Stone is coming to the UK in July to tour and play the Maid Of Stone festival so click this link to get your tickets now!

  • Album Review - The Now - Too Hot To Handle

If these guys aren't already on your radar, they need to be! Too Hot To Handle I love this song, it's such an epic song. I could listen to this song over and over again and it would never get boring. I can see why they picked it as the first song because the sower parts are quite hypnotising and then inbetween you have these amazing choruses where the drums and guitars come in. It's just brilliant Devil Inside Me This one sounds like a classic Kaiser Chiefs song and it is amazing! It makes me want to dance around the room and throw my arms around like a crazy person because the beat just takes over. I dare you all to try and sit perfectly still for this because it's just not possible! Special Kind Of Stupid This song really gives me realy big U2/The Killers vibes with how big and dramatic the music is. If I close my eyes I can see them playing this song in a stadium as it rings out over the crowd with it's loud guitars and banging beat. Truth Always Comes Out In The End This one is a little bit different to the others at the beginning but then you have Shane's beautiful rocky voice shouts out over the music, closely followed by the drums and guitar to ramp up the volume and beat to elevate the song to a whole new mood. Live And Die This is a very sad song, it sounds like it is a song about a girl is surrounded by people but she isn't heard or seen by anyone. She's had to change what she wants for everyone else and now she is living with that. Get Out This one has an instant beat that has you moving straight away. Some of the sample sounds remind me of a computer game but with a rocky twist. Awesome dancing track. His Last Dimension Absolutely love this song! Definitely my favourite on the album! The guitar is brilliant, it takes control over the whole song, the tone and mood is all down to the guitar and there is a face melting belter of a guitar solo. Just wow! Wind Up This is a brilliant duck face song, you know the kind I mean, it makes you stand up, wiggle your butt, throw your hands up in the air and pout like a duck while whipping your hair everywhere. Yeah, this is that song! Girl You Got Me I love the bass on this track, you can hear it all the way through driving the song. This is another one that can be played on repeat over and over again because it gets you moving and I love the lyric. "Girl, you got me, you got me sweet, you got me shaking!" Friendly Fire The guitar parts in this song are to frigging die for! I've been playing this one a lot in my car driving to work and it it perfect to start the day with. The whole thing has a good vibe "Cause we are the underdogs, we're gonna rise from beneath, we're gonna show them up". Yes you are lads, you are going to show them all up. Time Is Over This song is so beautiful, the piano and vocals are just so perfectly put together, the half way through, the drums and guitar` come in so it feels like a completely different song. Still awesome but it's been done is such a way that you don't realise it's coming and you are just sat there thinking, "where did that come from?" The album is out now so get over to Spotify to check it out!!

  • Album Review - GHØSTKID - Hollywood Suicide

Wow, this is not an album that I expected to like so much. I had heard of the band but not paid much attention to them, something that I now deeply regret because this is an amazing album!! Hollywood Suicide Ok, complete honesty (as always), the start of this song had me leaning back in my seat asking "what the fuck is this?" but by the end of the song, I was frigging loving it. Out of all the songs on this album, this is the best song to start the album with because it's so in your face. S3x One of my favourite songs on this album, it's slow and moody but I can't get enough of it. It sounds striped down music wise at first but then there is a face melting guitar solo that comes out of nowhere. Love the lyrics "I keep having sex with your soul and nothings gonna take away the pain away". FSU I love so many things about this song, the constantly drum beat, the screaming, the gruff singing, the shredding guitars, the catchy chorus and the fact it has me moving from the second it starts. Heavy Rain I love the vocals on this track, they are quite emotional, I can almost feel the pain. It's a very theatrical sounding song, it's very dramatic so it grabs your attention, demanding that you stop what you are doing to listen to it until he very end. Valerie The only word I can pick to describe this song is haunting. It's a short song but it leaves an impression with its very deep gruff vocals in the verses and softer, lighter vocals on the chorus. I don't know what exactly happened to the person who wrote it but I want to give them a big hug and a big ass bottle of vodka. Black Cloud This would be the prefect song for the band to come out on stage to, starts off quiet, sounds like clapping and then boom! There they are screaming in your face with a force that forces you backwards. Ugly This is a slower one compared to the other songs but it still brilliant. Some awesome screaming going on with lyrics like "come on keep draining me, feeling inferiority is giving me anxiety, will I ever be good enough to fit your frame? People never gonna change, cause poeple are ugly" Blood I really hope this song gets played live because it is such an awesome mosh pit song. The beat goes from absolute mental to slow, like they are giving people a little break for 2 seconds and then goes mental again. This is the song that I didn't know I needed in my life. Murder Feat Inhuman You know that part in a film when the super sexy bad guy walks in, everyone turns to look at him as a killer song starts and the whole mood changes? This could be that song. If it was a person, they would be stood in front of you screaming in your face and you would be shitting yourself. It's so in your face, the double base drum sounds frigging amazing and the screaming just completes it. FAVOURITE SONG ON THE ALBUM!!!! Dahlia I wasn't sure how to interpret this song when I first heard it, I thought that it was just about depression and if anyone would notice if they just disappeared one day. After listening to it some more, I feel like it's more about walking away from a situation or fame and who would still be there for them. The lyrics that really got me were:- Still on my feet but I'm dying alive. Tragedy behind a wall of success Let's make a bet Who's gonna miss me? Who's staying with me? It's a brilliant song, one of the best on the album. Helena Drive This is a slower and quite emotional song touching on depression, self harm and drug use. The feeling that no one will understand enough to help so "she's putting on her makeup to cover the scars, still perfect on the outside, she's dying on the inside". These guys will be coming to the UK soon supporting Blind Channel on the Exit Emotions tour so get your tickets here now to check them out live!!

  • Gig Review - Lost Alone - The Lower Third

Lost Alone 8th March 2024 The Lower Third The first time i saw Lost Alone was 13 years ago when they were the opening act for My Chemical Romance. They gave so much good energy to the audience and were so kind with people who went to say hi after the show. Cut to today, 2024, I got the chance to see them again, a lot has changed through the years but they're still smashing it. The whole show is filled with bangers, head-banging songs and guitar riffs that pulls your heart out of your chest. Songs with choruses that the band invites you to join creating a beautiful moment between the artists and the fans. There was also a little moment where Steven (singer) just came off stage and sat on the floor with us to sing an acoustic version of "Predators In A Maze", which was very different from what you see when he's on stage where he plays the guitar almost aggressively. Is he fighting that guitar or is he dominating it to create that music? It's the type of show you won't forget quickly, is something special that warms up your heart and also gives you the change to release energies by jumping and singing at the top of your lungs. Through the show we also get some stories behind the songs, where and how they were written, another little something special. This show is so well curated, you can feel that the band cares about it. I would definitely go again to see them, if you have the chance they're still touring, here the next shows: 12/3 Exeter 13/3 Plymouth 14/3 Cardiff 15/3 Milton Keynes 16/3 Birmingham 18/3 Nottingham 19/3 Leeds 20/3 Manchester

  • Gig Review - Sons Of Liberty - The Carlisle

Sons Of Liberty The Carlisle, Hastings Thursday 7th March 2024 Set list Time to Fly Light The Fuse Tertulia Time Beef Jerky Boogie I Come In Peace Love What You've Got Rich Man, Poor Man Up Shit creek Damaged Reputation Turn This Tide I've Got The Sky What's A Man Hawk Men Come Don't Hide Hebind Your Wekness Libertine Walk With You Ruby Star I have to admit, these guys have a very special place in my heart because they are just so frigging awesome. They are the nicest guys you will ever meet and have the best posivite, hyped up vibe! I love that this was a small gig because it meant the band could interact with the crowd and we all had a brilliant time feeling so involved. Russ was chatting to the crowd between songs (while the rest were tuning guitars lol) and making us all laugh. He would make jokes about the next song being "Tune To E". The energy that these guys give off on stage is infectious, everyone was so happy singing along and dancing. They always look so happy up on stage, they really do love what they do. I have to make a point of saying how much I love Fred when he is getting into what he is playing. There needs to be a fan club just for Fred's facial expressions because he is just so happy and really into what he is playing that he is pulling all sorts of faces. Just before Beef Jerky Boogie, I was standing on Fred's side of the stage between the bar and the stage, trying to get some pictures of Steve the drummer. When the barman banged loudly on the bar next to me and when I looked round, Russ was getting up on the bar and walking down it to the other end. He got the whole crowd to crouch down, which is when he asked the barman "can you see my arse crack?" And then he did a counted everyone in to jump up and around to the beginning of the song. I did distract poor Russ at one point. I was trying to take a picture of him and he cheekily flipped me his finger finger. I pretended to be shocked but my acting was better than I thought because he looked a bit worried and said "not really", so he lost his place in the song for a second. Sorry Russ, love you xxxx The end of the night came far too soon and before I knew it, it was the last song and we were all pretenting that there wasn't an encore lol. The band did a great job of walking to the back of the stage like we couldn't see them only to come back out again. When it was all over, the whole band came out to the merch table to speak to everyone and have pictures. I think it's brilliant when a band is able to do this because it's giving something special to the fans. I fangirled quite a bit. Fred flicked his guitar pick to me and like one of the seagulls from Find Nemo, I scream "mine mine mine" trying to find it after it bounced out my hand and onto the bar lol. Then I asked Steve if I could have his set list and got everyone to sign it. I'd already got a band shirt and one of their card sized bottles opens to the pick and set list were perfect editions to my little collection. The guys are still touring right now so if you get the chance, make sure you go along to see them! Here's the link.
