Tell us about your latest release.

Our second full-length album ‘Noises’ comes out November 29th and it’s released

worldwide by Wormholedeath Records.

What was the recording process like? Was it in a studio or do you do it all yourselves?

It was quite a long journey for us as we ended up recording the whole album twice! We

had almost everything ready by end of 2023 but lost access to the materials and ended up making a decision to record everything again. So in June 2024 we travelled to the Finnish countryside to spend four days with sound engineer Owe Inborr to record the album. We finished all the recording during those four days, had plenty of beers during the process, and ended up with an album we are really proud of. It sounds like Flush.

How do you guys write the songs?

This is Lasse responding and I am the main songwriter in the band. I approach music

creation exploratively, which means that I still try quite different approaches to songwriting. Sometimes I stumble onto a good riff and then I build something around it. Sometimes I start with a story, a message or a line, and then continue figuring out what the story would sound like as music. I have hundreds of notes with lyric snippets and notes about potential songs. Some songs come together quickly, and I then take them to the band for arranging together, but some songs take a lot of time to mature into something ready. The one thing that is common with all our songs is that they are all based on something real, something I have experienced or seen first-hand. Politics, love, anxiety, substance abuse, heartbreak… real life.

What were your main influences while writing?

Lyrically, I try to keep things relatable while still sometimes playing with metaphors and

then sometimes just being really blunt. Writers I take most clues from are Craig Finn, Scott

Hutchison, and Charles Bukowski, all comfortable with the dark side of life and able to let light in where it wants to come in.

What is your favourite song on the new release and why?

Like asking which is your favourite child! Today I head the song ‘One Short Moment’ as an exclusive preview in a radio show and it’s a really personal and straight forward song

about loss and grief. I’m really happy with how it came about and it’s definitely the most

emotional song on the album.

How did you come up with the name of the release?

We named our last EP with a lyric line from a song and wanted to do the same here. We have a song called ‘Noises In My Head’ on the album, so we just did it the other way around this time and took just one word from that song to name the album ‘Noises’. It’s obviously another metaphor for everything we are surrounded by and bombarded by

internally as well.

Have you got any gigs or a tour coming up where people can hear the songs live?

We play an album release show in our hometown Helsinki on Saturday 30th November at Bar Loose, one of our favourite live venues. Once the album is out we aim to play lots of live shows in the new year!
