I am honoured to be able to review this album as a fan of both Metallica and Apocalyptica.
I'm always in for a band covering songs but keeping their own personal touch and you can definitely hear it in this album.
Not the first time the Finnish band is bringing us Metallica songs,as their very first album in 1996 was "Plays Metallica By 4 Cellos" reinventing and celebrating some of Metallica's best and most known songs like "Master Of Puppets" and "Nothing Else Matters".
In "Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2" we can find more songs like "To Live Is To Die" and, one of my all time favourite in both versions now "The Four Horsemen" and speaking about this song, on this album the legend Robert Trujillo is featured.
The bassist offered to be on this album, almost as a gesture of respect to another band who were once formed by normal guys who just wanted to play the songs from their favourite band, but with their own instruments.
And personally I find this extremely humble from a legendary metal band like Metallica. And this is not the very first time for the two bands to collide, Apocalyptica actually opened the stage for Metallica back in 2011.
As usual Apocalyptica delivers another great album and I couldn’t happier for them, definitely gonna suggest (FORCE) everyone to give it a listen!
As I'm writing this, the whole world seems to go be crazy about the Netflix show "Bridgertons", and you are probably wondering why I'm bringing this up now.
Well, if you have never seen the show just know that all the songs played during the episodes are covers of today's pop songs a classic key, so we are talking about violins, Cellos, pianos and harps. If I lived in that regency era, this album would have been my track list.
Apocalyptica will bring this new album on tour starting from August around not only Europe and will perform few show in UK. Click the poster to go to the ticket website.
